Description

López Vallecillos left his deepest imprint on Central American letters as an editor and publisher, but he was an important author in his own right. His history of journalism in El Salvador, El periodismo en El Salvador (1964), was an exhaustive account of the role of periodicals, tabloids, broadsheets, and magazines in his home country since colonial times. He wrote a two-volume biography of the nineteenth century liberal leader Gerardo Barrios (1967), as well as numerous volumes of poetry.
